Over To ‘Unlock 1'

Govt extends nationwide lockdown till June 30, but with major phase-wise relaxations in non-hotspots

After nearly two months of lockdown, Government announced a phased wise unlock. The MHA on Saturday issued new set of guidelines. While India opens up the lockdown shall continue to be implemented strictly in the containment zones till June 30. The Centre has left it to State/UT governments.

The phase-1 that begins on June 8 will see the reopening of religious places, hotels, restaurants and shopping malls.

In phase-2 for which the final decision will be taken in July, schools, colleges may be opened in consultation with states/UTs and Central ministries, other stakeholders.

Finally, in phase-3 based on the assessment of the situation, interactional air travel, metro rail, cinema halls, gyms, entertainment parks, theatres, bars, auditoriums, assembly halls, social/political/religious gatherings may be allowed to function.

ACTIVITIES PROHIBITED

In phase-1, only a limited number of activities will remain prohibited throughout the country. These activities include: International air travel of passengers; operation of Metro Rail; cinema halls, gymnasiums, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theatres, bars and auditoriums, assembly halls and similar places; and, social/ political/ sports/ entertainment/ academic/ cultural/ religious functions/ and other large congregations.

Meanwhile, there will be no restrictions on movement of persons and goods. There shall be no restriction on inter-State and intraState movement of persons and goods. No separate permission/ approval/e-permit will be required for such movements. However, if a State/ UT, based on reasons of public health and its assessment of the situation, proposes to regulate movement of persons.

EASE IN NIGHT CURFEW

Night curfew shall continue to remain in force, on the movement of individuals, for all nonessential activities. However, the revised timings of the curfew will be from 9 pm to 5 am.

USE OF AAROGYA SETU

With a view to ensure safety, various authorities have been advised to encourage the use of the application.

GUIDELINES KICK IN TOMORROW

  • Face covering: Wearing of face cover is compulsory in public places, in workplace and during transport. *Social distancing: Minimum distance of 6 feet (do gaz ki doori) in public places. Shops and work places will ensure not more than five people.
  • Gatherings: Large public gatherings prohibited. Marriage guests not to exceed 50. Funerals not to exceed 20 persons.
  • Spitting punishable with fine in accordance with its laws, rules or regulations.
  • Consumption of liquor, paan, gutka, tobacco etc. in public places is prohibited.
  • Practice of Work from home (WfH) should be followed.
  • Staggering of work or business hours will be followed at work places.
  • Provision for thermal scanning, hand wash and sanitizers will be made at all entry and exit points.
